Biography
Klayton, a multi-instrumentalist based in New York, launched the Circle of Dust project in the early 1990s under the influence of Skinny Puppy and additional industrial groups from the 1980s. R.E.X. Music finalized an agreement that produced the self-titled debut album in 1992. Brainchild appeared two years afterward, followed by the third release, Disengage, in 1998. Around the turn of the millennium Klayton pursued a separate and ultimately more prosperous course under the name Celldweller. In 2015 he secured the rights to the 1990s Circle of Dust recordings and initiated remastered reissues that included previously unreleased bonus tracks. Plans were also disclosed for a new Circle of Dust album scheduled to arrive in December 2016.
