Biography
Chris Randall handled mail duties at the industrial label Wax Trax! and served as a roadie for the imprint's leading act KMFDM prior to issuing recordings as Sister Machine Gun. A 1990 demo drew notice from KMFDM, opening the door for Randall to join several live performances. The positive response to those shows led him to team with Chris Kelly, previously of Virus 23, for the album Sins of the Flesh, which appeared in 1993. Sister Machine Gun's follow-up effort, Torture Technique, arrived the next year, after which Kelly departed. Randall then partnered with guitarist Xmas and, aided by producer John Fryer—who had earlier collaborated with Trent Reznor on Nine Inch Nails' breakthrough LP Pretty Hate Machine—completed 1995's Burn. Metropolis marked the project's return in summer 1997, with [R]evolution issued two years later. 6.0 emerged in spring 2001.
