Biography
Bandleader Seibold assembled Hate Dept. during the early 90's, crafting a sound that merges repetitive industrial dance rock with hostile punk rock. As the group's multi-instrumentalist, Seibold handles keyboards, guitar, percussion, and delivers the project's distorted vocals. The debut album meat.your.maker appeared on the Caroline subsidiary 21st Circuitry in 1994, followed by Omnipresent two years afterward. Both records earned spots on Rolling Stone's Top 10 Alternative Album Chart, with Omnipresent's single "New Power" reaching the summit of the Alternative Press Dance Chart; Keyboard magazine also designated Seibold Best New Talent of 1995. Through these efforts Seibold gained recognition as a producer for Berlin and Information Society while remixing Smash Mouth's hit "Walking On the Sun" plus tracks by Abra Moore, Pink Noise Test, and Articficial Noise Club. Joined by guitarist Mark Greco, drummer Charles Hunt, and keyboardist Jeff Smith, Seibold and associates issued the third full-length album Technical Difficulties in 1999.
