Biography
Initially conceived without any fixed agenda, Circus Diablo assembled former Cult member Billy Morrison (also of Camp Freddy) with current Cult member Billy Duffy, Ricky Warwick (formerly of the Almighty), Brett Scallions (formerly of Fuel), and, at the outset, drummer Jeremy Colson (formerly with Steve Vai's band). The musicians quickly recognized a potent chemistry that justified elevating the effort, so in early 2006 they enlisted Cult, Guns N' Roses, and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum for studio sessions. Within three weeks a substantial batch of songs had been recorded, after which Circus Diablo secured a contract with Koch Records on April 29, 2007, to issue their debut album. By that summer the song "Loaded" had risen through the radio rankings and reached the Top 20. A place on the 2007 Ozzfest tour brought the year to a fitting close.
