Biography
French-American singer/songwriter Sydney Wayser issued three albums of breezy yet sophisticated indie folk-pop under her birth name prior to taking on the Clara-Nova alias in the middle of the 2010s. The Clara-Nova recordings maintain the same level of complexity and introspection found in her previous output while leaning further toward pop sensibilities through more memorable hooks and greater reliance on electronic textures. Her first EP under the new name, The Bronze Age, surfaced in 2015, followed in 2016 by a remix she created of Blonde Redhead’s “The One to Love.” She kept composing fresh songs and taking the stage, culminating in 2017 with an onstage appearance alongside Lorde at both the Glastonbury and Lollapalooza festivals.
