Biography
In 2012 Daryl Palumbo, who had previously fronted Glassjaw, joined forces with Richard Penzone, the multi-instrumentalist from Men, Women & Children, to launch Color Film in New York. Drawing from art-rock and pop currents, the pair issued their first single, “Until You Turn Blue,” the next year via Calm + Collect. Although they circulated additional tracks online during the following years, a larger collection of new songs did not surface until 2017. That year Color Film entered an agreement with Epitaph to issue their debut album, Living Arrangements, in mid-2017. The record found the duo edging still nearer to pop, a considerable distance from the alternative metal of Palumbo’s Glassjaw era, through the addition of synths, samples, and fluid bass lines while preserving the art-rock character of their earlier work.
