Scotland’s Aerogramme came together in April 1998 around the songwriting of Craig B, previously of Ganger, alongside Campbell McNeil and drummer Martin Scott. The group blended acoustic guitars with electronic textures that moved from gentle passages to fiercely abrasive outbursts. In 1999 they issued two singles on their own Babi-Yaga imprint and shared stages across the UK with Low, Geneva, and Snow Patrol. Early the following year they joined the Chemikal Underground roster, home to Arab Strap and the Delgados. Sessions for John Peel and Steve Lamacq on BBC radio paved the way for several festival appearances later in 2000. Their Glam Cripple EP, part of Chemikal Underground’s Fukd I.D. series, quickly sold through its limited run of two thousand copies. After laying down a debut album in the studio during the first months of 2001, the band spent the latter half of May touring England and Scotland with Life Without Buildings. The White Paw single surfaced in August, with the full-length A Story in White arriving the next month. Subsequent releases included Sleep and Release in 2003, Seclusion in 2006, and My Heart Has a Wish That You Would Not Go in 2007.
