Dan Lissvik, a musician, producer, remixer, and visual artist from Sweden, established his reputation through the Balearic dance duo Studio and the Gothenburg-based Service record label, along with multiple additional endeavors. The tracks from Studio fused new wave-inflected indie rock with elements of Afrobeat, dub, and Krautrock, and Lissvik has sustained comparable approaches across later efforts that extend from ambient explorations to disco-oriented material. The group's first album, West Coast, appeared in late 2006 before being expanded into Yearbook 1 the next year; both editions earned extensive praise. Lissvik subsequently focused on solo and remix work, issuing 7 Trx + Intermission in 2008 and Midnight in 2016. He has also put out recordings as Atelje and assembled the group Under Allt, which delivered the albums Mellanrum in 2021 and 3 in 2023.

Lissvik initiated Studio while attending the Valand Academy School of Fine Arts in 2000, with Rasmus Hägg coming aboard the following year. Together with Ola Borgström, he launched Service as a D.I.Y. initiative, venue, and imprint. Studio and Service both debuted in 2001 via the single "The End of Fame." In 2006 the duo issued its first full-length, West Coast, through the Information label. The record comprised six lengthy, densely layered slow disco pieces that at times evoked New Order lounging at Ibiza. It achieved major critical recognition and landed on numerous year-end best-of lists. The pair subsequently reworked material by artists from Kylie Minogue to A Mountain of One, with the results gathered on Yearbook 2 in 2008 (Yearbook 1 assembled every track from West Coast plus the standalone single "No Comply").

Studio produced nothing further and formally disbanded in 2011, yet Lissvik stayed busy as a producer and remixer in tandem with his own releases. He put out the instrumental solo album 7 Trx + Intermission (credited to D. Lissvik) in 2008. The Crêpes, his pop duo alongside Fredrik Lindson of the Embassy, released the album What Else? in 2009. Lissvik handled production for albums and singles by Swedish pop and indie dance acts including the Embassy, Lake Heartbeat, and Taken by Trees, plus the Canadian group Young Galaxy. His remix credits encompass singles from Fever Ray, Korallreven, La Roux, HAIM, Sally Shapiro, and additional artists. In 2014 he issued the experimental downtempo album Meditation as Atelje on the Vinyl Export label. The next year he released the uptempo neo-disco single "Shuvit!" via Smalltown Supersound, followed by his first full-length for the imprint, Midnight, in 2016. Atelje then put out the EP 50/50 in 2017.

Archive 1, a collection of one hundred sketches and recordings spanning 2002 to 2012, surfaced digitally in 2018; a limited four-LP selection titled Archive 1'Ish appeared in 2020. Lissvik gained recognition as a painter and has mounted regular exhibitions and murals in Gothenburg and Stockholm. Remaining active musically, he formed Under Allt alongside Henric Claesson and released the debut album Mellanrum in 2021. After Albin Johannson joined, the group issued 3 in 2023. As Atelje, Lissvik dropped the singles "Manual," "Passing Clouds," and "Daydream" in 2024. Studio's West Coast received a reissue from Ghostly International in 2025.
