Biography
Emerging after contributing to Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready to Die in 1994, Diana King secured a deal from the Work label. Having previously worked alongside Andrew Tosh, this reggae and dancehall singer put out a pair of records in 1995 known as Tougher Than Love and Shy Guy. The follow-up Think Like a Girl arrived in 1997. Though worldwide performances brought greater visibility to her profile, King kept a modest presence. She stepped away for several years to prioritize time with her children. Entering the new millennium, she entered talks with Maverick. Her third studio effort, the funkadelic Respect, came out in 2002. Operating now within the Warner Bros. sphere, Lovers: Diana King Sings for Lovers marked her 2009 output.
