Biography
Die Zipfelbuben formed in 2005 as a Berlin-based trio of longtime friends—Timo Schulz, Dirk Ostermann, and Florian Flesch—who blend schlager, dance music, and volksmusik into a party-oriented sound modeled after DJ Ötzi. Their first single arrived the following year in the form of the Top 50 charter “Kedeng, Kedeng!” A second 2006 release, “Der Teufel und der Junge Mann,” also charted, albeit at a lower peak. The group’s debut full-length, Volkspop, surfaced in 2007 and yielded the further hit “Unser Lied.” Shifting from WEA to Sony, they issued their sophomore album Party, Party, Party in 2009; it reached the German Top Ten and the Austrian Top Twenty. Lead single “Hier im Dschungel,” featuring the Dschungel Allstars, climbed to number six in Germany and served as the theme for season four of the reality series Ich Bin ein Star - Holt Mich Hier Raus!
