Biography
Dirt Nasty serves as the stage alias adopted by Simon Rex, the performer who launched an acting career during the 1990s only to pivot toward rap a decade and a half afterward through a string of humorous YouTube clips that quickly spread online. Simon Rex Cutright entered the world on July 20, 1974, in San Francisco, CA, where his early years were shaped by exposure to hardcore rap, heavy metal, and R&B. Eventually relocating to Hollywood, he built a reputation through roles on Baywatch and Felicity along with appearances in the films Scary Movie 3 (2003) and National Lampoon's Pledge This! (2006), while also holding a short-term position as an MTV VJ. By the late 2000s Rex had launched the rap persona Dirt Nasty, shooting additional comedic clips for the platform including "1980" and "Cracker Ass Fantastic." He simultaneously launched the independent imprint Shoot to Kill Music, delivered his first full-length solo project Dirt Nasty (2007), and joined forces with Mickey Avalon and Andre Legacy under the group name Dyslexic Speedreaders.
