Biography
During the second half of the 2010s, rapper and producer Ugly God surfaced with a style defined by crude lyrics and sluggish rhythms. His birthplace is Houston, though he has also resided in additional southern locales such as Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, along with Indiana in the Midwest. After enrolling at the University of Southern Mississippi and then withdrawing, he established the Little Dick Clique and began distributing tracks including “Booty from a Distance” and “I Beat My Meat” via a SoundCloud account. Major-label Asylum acquired his comparatively successful 2016 cut “Water” for official release; by year’s end the single registered on a pair of Billboard viral charts. Asylum’s first full-length project from Ugly God, the 2017 mixtape The Booty Tape, reached the upper half of the Billboard 200’s Top 30. He followed with the 2018 singles “lettetznow,” a collaboration with Jacin Trill, and “Imma Dog,” featuring PnB Rock. Ahead of his next album, Bumps & Bruises, which arrived in August 2019, he independently issued the EP Just a Lil Something Before the Album… that April.
