Biography
California hip-hop outfit Shoreline Mafia specializes in hedonistic trap rap that spotlights revelry, intimacy, and substances. Following gradual momentum throughout the latter half of the 2010s, the collective inked a deal with Atlantic in 2018 and dropped the charting Party Pack, Vol. 2 the next year. Their first proper studio effort, 2020’s Mafia Bidness, entered the upper tier of the U.S. album list, yet the lineup soon called it quits. After a four-year hiatus they resurfaced as a duo in May 2024 with the track “Heat Stick.”
Drawing from Max B, 50 Cent, Three 6 Mafia, and Gucci Mane, the act originated in 2012 when graffiti artists and rappers Fenix, OhGeesy, Rob Vicious, and Master Kato—the only member from Chicago amid otherwise Los Angeles-rooted figures—began working together. Early sessions revolved around joint recording and celebration, yet the four did not formalize their group identity until 2016. Their first independent mixtape, ShorelineDoThatShit, surfaced at the close of 2017; RonRonTheProducer handled the beats and the project included the cuts “Musty” and “Bottle Service.” Atlantic Records came aboard in early 2018, prompting a May reissue of ShorelineDoThatShit followed that same year by Traplantic, Party Pack, and OTXmas. Party Pack, Vol. 2 landed in September 2019 and peaked at number 61 on the Billboard 200. Mafia Bidness arrived in July 2020, climbed to number 27 on the U.S. chart, earned gold status, and featured contributions from 03 Greedo, Wiz Khalifa, Future, and additional guests. Fenix exited shortly afterward, prompting the remaining trio to dissolve.
In May 2024 Fenix and OhGeesy reconvened as a duo and issued the single “Heat Stick.”
