Emerging from the Bay Area’s Shoreline Mafia quartet, Rob Vicious established his presence amid the late-2010s rap revival through partnerships ranging from 03 Greedo to Drakeo the Ruler. Following the measured delivery showcased on debut album Traplantic, the Los Angeles native turned toward fresh sonic territory on his 2020 sophomore release Breakthrough.

Born Robert Magee in Los Angeles, the rapper helped form Shoreline Mafia with Fenix Flexin, Master Kato, and Ohgeesy. He first issued the joint EP Trapped It Out alongside Fenix, then contributed to the collective’s November 2017 mixtape ShorelineDoThatShit, which merged tributes to regional legends with contemporary trap production to yield a halting, boast-heavy flow. July brought his initial solo outing Traplantic, an extension of his Shoreline material that delivered hard-hitting, rhythm-forward tracks propelled by his signature swagger. That August the group unveiled EP Party Pack, followed by the December mixtape OTXmas. After spending 2019 shaping a second Party Pack installment, Magee tracked Breakthrough, which surfaced in May 2020 and expanded his palette while preserving Bay Area foundations through ventures into melodic rap and Splurge-style booming trap.
