Dorrough

Hailing from Texas, rapper Dorrough launched his recording career in 2009 through the modest chart success of the single "Ice Cream Paint Job." Raised in Dallas, he first gained recognition on the basketball court, serving as captain of the team at Lancaster High School before enrolling at Prairie View A&M University with the intention of walking on to the school's squad. During his college years he issued underground tracks under the moniker Dorrough Music, including "Do tha Muscle" and "Halle Berry," which steadily built regional momentum. His breakthrough arrived that same year when the full-length Dorrough Music appeared on E1 Music, issued under the abbreviated name Dorrough and containing both "Ice Cream Paint Job" and "Walk That Walk." Get Big arrived in 2010, followed by the 2011 mixtape Silent Assassin. Returning to the Dorrough Music name in 2013, he issued the mixtape Shut the City Down together with the single "I.D.G.A.F." Two years afterward came the sequel Shut the City Down 2, which included guest spots from Lil Boosie, Too $hort, and Young Dolph. Ride wit Me surfaced in 2017 via Real Cures Inc. after the lead single "Watch Me Do This."
