Among Germany's independent Selfmade label's prominent rappers stands Favorite. Christoph Alex, born in Essen, Germany, found his lyrical style profoundly shaped by the loss of his parents. Following this, he resided with his aunt and uncle while also experiencing periods in orphanages. Roughly ten years after this pivotal occurrence, Alex had honed his rapping abilities sufficiently to secure a deal with Selfmade. There, alongside his longtime friend Jason, he issued his inaugural album Rappen Kann Tödlich Sein in 2005. Subsequent Selfmade releases included the debut solo effort Harlekin from 2007, Anarcho in 2008, and Christoph Alex during 2011. Despite Christoph Alex attaining the fourth position on Germany's Media Control chart, several years passed before Favorite delivered his fourth studio album Neues von Gott in 2015.
