Biography
Hailing from New England, rapper Flawless Real Talk combined streetwise instincts with refined delivery, advancing from Rhode Island’s underground circuit to Atlanta’s scene across a decade. Mainstream exposure arrived in 2019 when he advanced to the finals of Netflix’s reality series Rhythm + Flow.
Alberto Martinez entered the world in Providence, Rhode Island, where an early fascination with the music industry later supported his emerging abilities. Exposure to touring logistics came through his stepfather’s role at a company transporting performing artists, instilling both an appreciation for life on the road and an understanding of the discipline required for sustained success. At sixteen he began cutting tracks with local producers, yet limited prospects in Providence prompted a 2010 relocation to Atlanta, Georgia. Within months he prevailed in a radio-station contest that secured an opening slot for Ludacris and Rick Ross.
Further competition wins followed, encompassing the Collipark/Interscope 64 artist tournament, the 2012 SESAC Myrtle Beach Music Conference contest, and the 2014 Don’t Fu[n]k Up Our Beats 6 event. Independent horrorcore rapper Tech N9ne became an early advocate after catching one of Flawless’s opening sets, resulting in a 48-date tour together during 2011. Additional stages were shared with Joell Ortiz, Waka Flocka Flame, Joe Budden, French Montana, and the Wu-Tang Clan as recognition spread through hip-hop circles.
“Doctor,” released in October 2016, became a hit single and previewed the debut album It’s Different, which appeared two months later. The 2017 EP Against It All included two appearances by Breana Marin. Second album 20Flaw7 arrived in 2018 and featured Jadakiss on “Bodies.”
Casting on the 2019 season of Rhythm + Flow supplied another major opportunity; propelled by the songs “Trouble” and “On My Way,” Flawless reached the series finale.
