Biography
Fold Zandura emerged as a post-grunge alternative-rock CCM trio marked by experimental electronica leanings. Its lineup centers on Jyro handling vocals and guitar, Jerome on bass, and Frank on drums. After the breakup of their prior band Mortal, Jyro and Jerome launched Fold Zandura in 1995. Jyro steers the project and authors the majority of its material. The band issued its self-titled debut on K-Tel during spring 1996. Positive reception for both the album and its supporting tour within the CCM and Christian rock scenes secured a contract with BEC Recordings, a Chordant subsidiary. Ultra Forever, the group’s first release on that imprint, appeared in fall 1997. To promote the album, Fold Zandura embarked on a lengthy tour as opener for Plankeye and Seven Day Jesus.
