Fred Mollin has earned acclaim as a producer, songwriter, and composer for film and television. During his teenage years he performed with multiple Canadian groups before settling in Toronto, where he launched his production career in the 1970s and achieved his greatest worldwide success by helming Dan Hill’s 1977 ballad “Sometimes When We Touch.” In the 1980s he shifted his base to L.A., scaled back studio work, and concentrated instead on writing scores for television series and motion pictures. His assignments ranged widely, encompassing individual installments of Beverly Hills 90210 as well as multiple entries in the Friday the 13th franchise. Returning later to record production, he oversaw projects that included J.D. Souther’s Natural History, America’s Back Pages, and Disney’s popular Lullaby Album series, all while maintaining his ongoing work scoring television programs.
