Pennsylvania outfit From Ashes to New fuses metal, hip-hop, hard rock, and electronicore into a singular sound. Their breakthrough arrived with the intense and emotionally resonant single “Through It All,” which anchored the 2016 debut album Day One. Refining their empowering hybrid approach on later releases Panic (2020) and Blackout (2023), the band accumulated several Top Ten Billboard Mainstream Rock singles, among them “Crazy,” “Panic,” and “Through It All.”

Originally conceived as a side project, From Ashes to New became the central endeavor for its participants after members of various dissolving Lancaster, Pennsylvania groups converged. Vocalist and guitarist Matt Brandyberry initiated the effort in August 2013; the roster gradually stabilized around regional veterans Chris Musser on raps and vocals, Branden Kreider on guitar, and Tim d’Onofrio on drums. Following a self-titled EP that same year, the band recorded the Downfall EP with producer Grant McFarland, issued by Eleven Seven Music in 2015. Powered by “Through It All,” which reached the Top 20 on the mainstream rock chart, Day One arrived in February 2016. Tim d’Onofrio and Chris Musser departed the following year; Mat Madiro assumed drumming duties while Danny Case joined on vocals. The single “Crazy” surfaced in February 2018 ahead of the April release of sophomore album The Future, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 163 as “Crazy” rose to number three on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart. After extensive touring with Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Ice Nine Kills, and Skillet, the group issued its third full-length, Panic, in 2020. Retaining the lineup from The Future and produced by Colin Brittain (Papa Roach, All Time Low), the set was followed three years later by Blackout, a prequel to the debut that distilled the discord and distress of the Covid-19 pandemic.
