Biography
Formed in Salt Lake City, Utah, during 1998, the hip-hop trio Furthermore aligned with Tooth & Nail Records from the outset, uniting frontman Fischer, DJ Jason, and backup singer Lee to fuse their distinctive funky approach. Drawing from Madonna, the Smiths, and Weird Al Yankovic, the group cultivated an independent hip-hop circuit that included opening slots for De La Soul and Run D.M.C. plus an appearance at the Salt Lake City date of the 1998 Vans Warped Tour. Their first album, Flourescent Jellyfish, arrived in fall 2000. Soon after, DJ Jason exited, leaving Lee and Fischer to continue as a duo. The pair devoted the following two years to refining an electronic-driven aesthetic before issuing the aptly titled She & I in April 2002.
