Biography
In 2010, Jeremy Thompson launched the New York City outfit Games soon after leaving Chicago for the Big Apple. The former Busy Signals bassist and Sing Sing Records founder handled vocals and bass while pulling together a fresh lineup that included drummer Dave Rahn plus guitarists Dustan Nigro and John Fraiser Carpenter. Their lean, direct sound drew equally from the raw punk foundation of Thompson’s earlier band the Carbonas and the 1970s glam and power pop of outfits such as Milk ‘N’ Cookies and the Raspberries. Georgia’s Rob’s House Records issued the group’s opening single, “Don't Look for Her” b/w “Funny Girl,” in January 2011, after which Games remained largely inactive until Hozac issued their self-titled full-length in November 2012.
