Biography
General Fiasco originated in Northern Ireland yet drew creative influence from across the Atlantic, modeling their sound after American guitar-centric acts such as the Strokes, Foo Fighters, and Paramore. The trio of Shane Davey, Owen Strathern, and Enda Strathern established the group during 2007; eventually Davey departed, allowing drummer Stephen Leacock to join the roster. Recognition from British outlets including NME arrived for the ensemble in 2008, partly thanks to a strong showing at the Leeds Festival. Infectious Records, which had earlier introduced the Northern Irish melodic rock outfit Ash, inked a deal with the musicians, leading to the 2010 issuance of their first full-length record, Buildings.
