Biography
Get Dead, a San Francisco quintet, came together in 2007 with a direct, acoustic-driven approach to punk rock. Guitarists Mike McGuire and Moki Noodlez, bassist Tim Mehew, drummer Scott Powell, and vocalist Sam King joined Fat Wreck Chords to issue the band’s first album, Bad News, in 2013. Although Irish folk elements and a minimalistic sound distinguished them on the roster, their raw punk edge and exuberant, celebratory outlook aligned closely with Chixdiggit!, Swingin’ Utters, NOFX, and similar acts, making the independent imprint an ideal match.
