Goldenhorse

The New Zealand pop-folk ensemble Goldenhorse took shape after vocalist Kristen Morrell first connected with guitarist and vocalist Geoff Maddock. Adding Ben King, Vincent Hine, and Nick Gaffaney to complete the five-piece allowed the group to coalesce, cultivate an audience, and polish its style. The combo issued its debut album Riverhead in 2002. Driven by its potent singles, the set reached number one on the domestic album charts twelve months later and remained there for slightly more than a year. The next project arrived with greater chart speed when Out of the Moon entered at number two, buoyed by the strong showings of singles "Run Run Run" and "Fish." The band subsequently toured Europe before returning to release its third album, the Top 40 seller Reporter, in 2008.
