Biography
English indie folk-pop group Goldheart Assembly fuse sunlit, West Coast-tinged vocal blends reminiscent of Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses with the atmospheric Brit-pop sensibilities of Travis and Coldplay. The six musicians—Jake Bowser, James Dale, Nicky Francis, Thomas Hastings, John Herbert, and Dominic Keshavarz—came together in London during 2007. Momentum arrived two years later when they cut a live session for BBC Radio 1 with veteran British broadcaster Steve Lamacq, an appearance that opened doors. Their debut single appeared later that same year, and the full-length Fierce Panda release Wolves and Thieves followed in March 2010. Extensive touring alongside Black Mountain and Band of Horses preceded a lineup change that reduced the ensemble to five members and brought in guitarist Kyle Hall; the refreshed unit reentered the studio and delivered the more expansive and ambitious Long Distance Song Effects in 2013.
