Golgotha

Distinguishing it from the U.K.-based act of the same name, the Spanish death/doom band was formed in 1992 by guitarist Vincent J. Paya. Through the Repulse label the group issued a series of rather average recordings, among them the 1994 Caves of Mind EP, the 1995 full-length Melancholy, 1997's The Way of Confusion EP, and the 1998 album Elemental Changes, before fading into inactivity. Widespread public indifference did not prevent Paya from later reactivating the project, a move that included securing session vocals from Avulsed's Dave Rotten on the 2005 New Life LP.
