Biography
Born and raised in Texas, Grace Phipps built her reputation as an actress through standout turns in The Vampire Diaries, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and Teen Beach Movie. She concentrated on musical theater studies at both the North East School of the Arts and Robert E. Lee High School before relocating to Los Angeles in pursuit of a professional acting career upon her 2010 graduation. Early screen work in Fright Night and The Nine Lives of Chloe King paved the way for her 2012 casting as April Young, the recurring character introduced during The Vampire Diaries’ fourth season. The same year brought another key role as Lela, the ’60s starlet featured in the Disney Channel’s time-traveling musical Teen Beach Movie; its soundtrack debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 in July 2013, while tracks such as “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’” and “Falling for Ya” held the top spots on Billboard’s Kid Digital charts for multiple weeks.
