Biography
In 2008, musicians drawn from the melodic post-hardcore outfits Story of the Year and Maybe Today established the St. Louis, Missouri rock band Greek Fire. Johnny Venus handles drums, Mark Joseph Roth plays bass, Ryan Phillips covers guitar, and Philip Sneed, known as Moon, fronts on vocals. Anchored in a commitment to “artistic honesty and integrity,” the quartet first shared its expansive fusion of stadium-ready alternative rock, hard-hitting post-hardcore, and complex progressive pop with listeners in 2010 on a three-song self-titled EP, which preceded the 2011 release of their debut full-length studio album, Deus Ex Machina.
