Hallows Eve originated as a thrash metal outfit in Atlanta, GA, during 1983. Their initial taste of recognition arrived in 1985 when the track "Metal Merchants" appeared on the Metal Massacre, Vol. 6 anthology. Metal Blade, the label behind that collection, promptly offered the band a contract. Fronted by vocalist Stacy Anderson alongside guitarists David Stuart and Steve "Skullator" Shoemaker, bassist Tommy Stewart, and drummer Ronny Appoldt, the group issued its first full-length effort, Tales of Terror, before the year ended. Two additional albums followed—Death & Insanity in 1986 and Monument in 1988—each delivering capable yet unremarkable thrash metal. The ensemble dissolved by 1989, only to regroup in 2004 with intentions of completing a fresh recording that remains unavailable.
