Haudegen

Hagen Stoll and Sven Gillert launched the German hard rock band Haudegen in Berlin after bonding over Pantera, Nickelback, Billy Idol, and Klaus Lage. Both musicians had earlier pursued rap under the aliases Joe Rilla and Tyron Berlin, respectively, and the group adopted the name Haudegen—meaning “Warhorse”—while characterizing its sound as “gutter poetry.” The outfit issued its self-titled debut EP in 2010 and later signed with Warner, which released the full-length studio album Schlicht & Ergreifend in 2011.
