I Was A Cub Scout

Nottingham, England serves as home to the self-proclaimed "boy band" I Was a Cub Scout, formed by Todd Marriott (vocals, synthesizer, guitar) and William Bowerman (drums). The two teenagers, each previously active in separate punk bands, first aligned after Marriott launched the project alone in mid-2005; Bowerman came aboard in early 2006. Their fusion of emo, indie rock, and electronics prompted Abeano, an XL Records imprint, to issue the singles Pink Squares (November 2006) and I Hate Nightclubs (March 2007).
