Biography
Formed in Cardiff, South Wales during 2003, the alternative pop/rock outfit Kids in Glass Houses emerged from a shared enthusiasm for Glassjaw. The lineup featured vocalist Aled Philips alongside guitarists Joel Fisher and Iain Mahanty, bassist Shay, and drummer Phil Jenkins. Local recognition arrived swiftly for the group within their hometown circuit. That buzz reached prominent outlets such as Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1, where critics lavished them with acclaim that positioned the act as the next major force on the U.K. rock landscape, all prior to securing any record deal. Throughout 2006 the musicians appeared on bills alongside an array of British and American acts including Dopamine, the Blackout, Lostprophets, Killswitch Engage, and Cute Is What We Aim For while also performing at multiple festivals. Their first single, “Me Me Me,” surfaced in early summer 2007 and also appeared on the EP E-Pocalypse.
