The alternative rock group Don Broco, recognized for energetic and tuneful hard rock sounds, launched their initial studio album Priorities during 2012. Achieving a position within the top 25 on home charts in the United Kingdom, they improved upon that standing via Automatic from 2015 and Technology released in 2018, attaining sixth and fifth places in sequence. Their fourth studio effort Amazing Things from 2021 claimed the top spot while amplifying the intensified sonic approach from the prior record through sharper, more confrontational words. Capturing live energy from stage shows, they issued Live from the Royal Albert Hall in 2023.

Formed in Bedford, England during 2008, Don Broco consisted of four members who first connected at Bedford Modern School. After prior involvement in separate groups, vocalist Rob Damiani started composing material alongside Simon Delaney on guitar, Matt Donnelly handling drums and vocals, plus Luke Rayner on bass. Early efforts proved shaky, yielding just a handful of performances before the members departed for university studies. At that juncture they agreed to regroup following graduation and focus fully on the band. Completing their degrees in 2009, they arranged additional concerts throughout the country, appearing in Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester. Such visibility secured notable slots at Camden Crawl and the Download Festival by year’s end, along with an opening role for post-hardcore outfit Enter Shikari. The self-recorded single “Dreamboy” arrived in 2010 amid an ongoing schedule of extensive live dates.

Throughout 2011 the quartet recorded and issued the Big Fat Smile EP. The six-track release earned favorable notices from outlets including Kerrang and Rock Sound, helping build audience interest. Their energetic melodic rock earned an initial headlining tour, several prominent shows alongside Deaf Havana, and multiple festival performances at Sonisphere, Slam Dunk, Hevy Festival, plus another Download appearance in 2011. That winter Rayner departed amid mounting obligations, with longtime associate Tom Doyle stepping in on bass. Continued backing and rising profile led to a contract with Search & Destroy, a partnership between Sony Music and Raw Power Management, early in 2012. Priorities followed months later, displaying the assurance of a group already seasoned by years on the road. Influences from Young Guns and Funeral for a Friend surface clearly, yet the album enabled their varied songwriting to develop fully.

The single “You Wanna Know” surfaced in summer 2013, marking their debut entry in the U.K. Singles Chart top 40. Devoting much of 2014 to crafting a follow-up, they resurfaced in 2015 with broadened sonic palettes incorporating funk, dance, and new wave elements. Produced by Grammy winner Jason Perry, the propulsive Automatic appeared via Epic Records that summer. The next year the band toured Europe with Bring Me the Horizon and supported 5 Seconds of Summer on the Sounds Live Feels Live world tour. After separating from Sony, the four-piece joined SharpTone, which reissued Automatic across the United States and Canada. Returning to the studio in 2017 for their third album, they drew from onstage experiences to shape a heavier sound on Technology, released early in 2018. They reemerged in 2021 with fourth LP Amazing Things, merging the intensified direction of Technology with more pointed lyrics. The set became their first to top the U.K. Album Charts. Sustaining momentum, they issued the standalone single “Fingernails” the following year to promote a U.K. Arena Tour. Another independent release, “Birthday Party,” arrived in 2023 alongside the concert LP Live from the Royal Albert Hall, recorded at the group’s 2022 performance in the landmark London venue.
