Biography
Born on September 1, 1993, Ilona Mitrecey reached national prominence in France as an 11-year-old techno-pop artist thanks to the breakthrough single “Un Monde Parfait.” Her father worked as a professional singer and her mother held a position at the Michel Lafon publishing house. The song first succeeded in Italy in mid-2004, issued under the credit Très Bien featuring Ilona and derived from a traditional Neapolitan melody; it did not appear in France until early 2005, where it held the top spot on the pop charts for 14 weeks and registered strong sales across much of Europe. “C’Est les Vacances” reached stores the following summer, after which Mitrecey released her debut album, also titled Un Monde Parfait, that autumn. Laissez-Nous Respirer arrived in late 2006.
