Dublin's Inhaler deliver propulsive and expansive indie rock under the guidance of frontman Elijah Hewson, whose emotive and wide-ranging vocals mesh with chiming guitars and synth textures. Their sound first surfaced on the 2018 debut single "I Want You" and continued through 2020's "Falling In," both of which showcased a lush, post-punk-inspired approach later expanded on the chart-topping 2021 album It Won't Always Be Like This and the 2023 follow-up Cuts & Bruises. The cycle for their third record began with the rousing 2024 single "Your House."

The group's original members first assembled as preteens in late 2012, drawn together by mutual admiration for the Stone Roses, Joy Division, the Cure, and Interpol. With Hewson—the eldest son of U2's Bono—handling lead vocals and rhythm guitar alongside Josh Jenkinson on lead guitar, Robert Keating on bass, and Ryan McMahon on drums, they completed secondary school and then self-released their initial studio single, "It Won't Always Be Like This," in March 2019. Two months afterward they issued "My Honest Face," which they supported by touring with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. After releasing "Ice Cream Sundae" that September, the band finished in the Top Five of BBC's Sound of 2020 poll. They resurfaced in January 2020 with "We Have to Move On" and followed it in May with "Falling In." Although those songs stood alone at first, "When It Breaks" and "Cheer Up Baby" later surfaced on the debut album It Won't Always Be Like This, which reached number one in both the U.K. and Ireland. Mid-2022 brought "These Are the Days," the opening single from their second album. Working with producer Antony Genn, whose prior credits include Goo Goo Dolls and Joe Strummer, the band delivered Cuts & Bruises in early 2023, an album that reached the Top 20 of Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Their subsequent partnership with producer Kid Harpoon, known for his work with Harry Styles, yielded the arena rock anthem "Your House" in late 2024.
