N.Y.C.-based duo Innergaze self-released their vinyl LP We Are Strange Loops in 2010 and promptly earned widespread critical acclaim along with a devoted audience thanks to hallucinatory analog sound adventures paired with visually striking live performances. As both musical collaborators and life partners, Jason Letkiewicz (aka Steve Summers, Manhunter) and video artist Aurora Halal issued the hazy, psychedelic house 12” “Shadow Disco” on the Not Not Fun offshoot dance label 100% Silk in 2011, where the title track earned recognition as a future left-field disco classic owing to its kaleidoscopic, uneasy house rhythms.

The pair drew from Detroit techno, Chicago house, and early-'80s electro, industrial, and Italo, relying primarily on analog synthesizers and drum machines to shape their raw, futuristic aesthetic. They followed this in 2012 with the “minimal synth” release Mutual Dreaming on Veronica Vasicka’s Minimal Wave sub label Cititrax.
