Intro

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, the R&B trio Intro is fronted by Kenny Greene, who handles songwriting and lead vocals alongside fellow singers Jeff Sanders and Buddy Wike. The group first made waves in 1993 with their self-titled debut album, which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard R&B album chart and secured their foothold in the American R&B vocal circuit. Their 1995 follow-up shifted toward a slower, more introspective style, yielding a melodic set of songs built primarily around ballads while avoiding the explicit themes embraced by many peers in the genre. The song “There Is A Way” exemplified this stance by confronting child abuse and wife battering. Greene reconnected with longtime production associate Dave Hall for the project, which also drew input from David Cintron and Rodney Jerkins.
