Iwrestledabearonce exemplify the daring experimentation sustaining metal's vitality by fusing it with elements from every other style. Formed in Shreveport, Louisiana, the lineup features Krysta Cameron on vocals, Stephen Bradley and John Ganey on guitar, Mike Montgomery on drums, and Dave Branch on bass. Their sound merges the Locust's spastic fury, the Dillinger Escape Plan's math wizardry, and Genghis Tron's metal-electro experimentation into a single, accessible package. The group issued its self-titled EP in 2007 after home recording, then secured a deal with Century Media following extensive touring and unveiled its first full-length album, It's All Happening, in 2009. That year the band shifted base to Birmingham, Alabama while swapping bassist Dave Branch for Mike Martin. Iwrestledabearonce followed with Ruining It for Everyone in 2011. Cameron revealed her pregnancy the next year, prompting the addition of Courtney LaPlante as touring vocalist in a role that later became permanent. LaPlante's studio debut arrived with the third album, Late for Nothing, in 2013. The quartet's fourth studio release, Hail Mary, emerged during summer 2015 and proved darker and more tech-heavy than earlier efforts.
