Texas In July

Formed while its members were still attending high school, Texas in July assembled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, during 2007. The lineup featured vocalist Alex Good, drummer Adam Gray, guitarists Christian Royer and Logan Maurer, and bassist Ben Witkowski. That same intricate, breakdown-heavy metalcore approach first surfaced on the group’s 2008 debut EP, Salt of the Earth, issued through CI Records. The following year brought the band’s initial full-length, I Am, which they promoted by touring alongside the Devil Wears Prada and August Burns Red. In summer 2010 the quintet announced its new association with Equal Vision Records, then disclosed the amicable exit of Maurer, who chose college over continued road work after graduation. Guitarist Chris Davis stepped in as replacement, and the refreshed lineup recorded its Equal Vision debut, One Reality, which appeared in 2011.
