Hailing from San Antonio, the five-piece Upon a Burning Body sets out to demonstrate that even the heaviest metal grows larger under a Texas sky. Their high-impact deathcore assaults audiences with relentless riffs, crushing breakdowns, and gang-vocal choruses drawn from hardcore traditions, yielding an unexpectedly catchy strain within a genre defined by unrelenting aggression.

After inking a deal with Sumerian Records, the band delivered its first full-length, The World Is Ours, in 2010. Two years later came the follow-up Red. White. Green. The 2014 release World Is My Enemy Now, produced by Will Putney and marked by its aggressive drive, entered the Billboard Top 40 and remains the group’s highest-charting effort. Straight from the Barrio appeared in 2016, highlighted by the intense single “Til the Break of Dawn,” and closed out their association with Sumerian. In 2019 they issued Southern Hostility on Seek and Strike Records, then followed with the EP Built from War in 2020.
