French pop artist Jain has drawn widespread praise for her energetic cross-cultural sound, forged through time spent living in multiple countries. Her early years unfolded across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Congo, where she absorbed the singular musical traditions and local customs. During adolescence she began merging Arabic and African rhythms with electronic textures and dance-floor production that also reflected her Parisian polish. That singular approach, rich in urban energy and social commentary, helped her grow a following through online platforms and earn recognition for her first album, Zanaka, which reached gold status in 2016 and received a nomination at France's Victoires de la Musique awards.

Born Jeanne Galice in Toulouse, France in 1992, Jain carries Malagasy ancestry on her mother's side—she is half Malagasy—and relocated to Dubai at age nine before attending high school in the Congo, where she first explored music-making alongside producer Mr. Flash. Once her schooling ended she moved back to Paris to study art. Over those years she embraced sounds tied to her youth in those locales, such as French techno, Arabic percussion, and the rhythms of Africa, and wove them into a style of her own.

She issued her debut EP, Hope, in 2015. French singer/songwriter Yodelice produced the set, which contained the singles "Come" and "Makeba," the latter a tribute to South African singer and civil rights icon Miriam Makeba. The tracks drew the attention of Jaden Smith, resulting in rotation on his Beats 1 radio show and wider international visibility. Her first full-length album, Zanaka, arrived at the close of 2015 and earned gold certification in France by February 2016. It also garnered a nomination for Album Révélation at the Victoires de la Musique. Additional standalone singles followed, among them 2017's "Dynabeat" and 2018's "Alright." August 2018 brought the release of Jain's second album, Souldier.
