Biography
Jessica Baio, raised in California, cultivated an audience through melodic contemporary pop tracks centered on romance and heartbreak while maintaining a consistent presence online as a multifaceted creator who posts everything from pranks to outings with her spouse across social platforms.
Born in Sacramento in 2002, she followed a familiar path for Gen Z musicians by learning guitar and piano, trying out for American Idol and The Voice, and sharing covers of powerhouse vocalists such as Demi Lovato, Jessie J, and Miley Cyrus—the last of which quickly gained traction—on her feeds. Departing from the usual trajectory, she wed high-school classmate and fellow online personality Sam Jose after graduation and established their home in Utah. Several EPs issued with minimal notice during the late 2010s prompted a fresh start once the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, as she focused on crafting lyrics as candid and personal as her video diaries and short clips. The strategy began yielding results by 2022 when tracks including “gone” and “at least,” which explored familiar experiences of emotional pain and worry, accumulated millions of streams. Catalyst, her debut EP, arrived in 2023 and highlighted “Trust Issues” alongside “Someday,” a poignant tribute to her husband’s father following his death from ALS. One year later came the second EP, petals, which spotlighted “he loves me, he loves me not,” “best friends with your girlfriend,” and “bad tattoo.”
