Biography
Jesus Ojeda y Sus Parientes emerged from Sinaloa, Mexico, as a regional Mexican outfit whose core sound fuses norteño, banda, and corrido traditions, with a pronounced emphasis on narcocorridos. Born in 1984, Jesus Ojeda Sauceda took up music early and spent his formative years performing with various non-recording local and regional ensembles; only in 2008 did he commit fully to songwriting and begin enjoying tangible success. Numerous acts went on to cut his material, among them Saúl el Jaguar, Conjunto Diamante Norteño, Banda Pequeños Musical, Fidel Rueda, El Bebeto, Apostadores, Jorge Santacruz, and Calibre 50.
In 2010 Ojeda assembled an all-guitar-and-vocal unit first known as Los Parientes alongside Thomas and German Hernandez; after the original members departed he brought in guitarist and backing vocalist Joel Bojorquez together with tuba player Luis Cardenas and adopted the present name. The group’s first release, Estilo Italiano, appeared in 2012 and quickly earned both critical praise and strong sales, building an immediate following. Ojeda described his corridos as “in Italian style,” explaining in one interview that they echoed the classic Sicilian mafiosi songs by refusing to glorify drug lords or cartel violence; reviewers remained unconvinced, yet listeners embraced the approach regardless. The album climbed to the Top Five on both the Hot Latin Albums and Mexican Regional charts.
Its 2012 successor, El Micho, reached the Top Ten on the Regional Mexican tally, while the self-titled third album also landed inside the Top Five. The band soon became a consistent sell-out draw throughout the U.S./Mexico border region. Extensive touring kept them on the road through 2016, after which they returned to the studio. A video for “El Amigo de Todos” surfaced in February 2017, followed by the pre-release singles “No Es un Juego” in March and both “Tengo Amistades” and “Mi Todo (Por Fijarme en Tu Belleza)” in April; each performed solidly on streaming platforms. The complete album, also titled El Amigo de Todos, arrived in mid-May.
