Biography
Harley "Sylvester" Alexander-Sule, who forms one half of the Brighton hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, records under the name Jimi Charles Moody. In that guise he explores old-school soul and Hendrixian hard rock, lending credence to the choice of pseudonym. His debut singles, "Other Man" and "The Woman," surfaced in 2015 while the project remained cloaked in secrecy; interviews at the time kept his identity concealed, a practice that extended to the release of the Islington EP later that year. After issuing "House of Moody" in 2015, Harley Alexander-Sule discreetly disclosed that he stood behind Jimi Charles Moody, explaining that a persona made it simpler to express emotion. The single "Turns to Gold" followed in 2016, succeeded by "Only You" and "Shame" in 2017.
