Biography
Canadian blues-rocker John Campbelljohn launched his career at fourteen by assembling a trio built around his dynamic guitar playing and commanding songcraft. Raised amid frequent household jamborees and music-centered gatherings, he developed an early fascination with the guitar. Rejecting the Celtic repertoire favored in his surroundings, he instead immersed himself in the styles of Son House and Muddy Waters. Sonny Landreth exerted a decisive pull, prompting Campbelljohn to form a group that included bassist Bruce Moore and drummer Steve Preeper. Together they issued How Does It Feel? in 1993, drawing immediate attention from reviewers across Canada and the United States. The follow-up, Hook Slide + Sinker, marked his first release on the European market, while the subsequent album, Nerves of Steel, attracted coverage from Rolling Stone.
