Biography
Originating from Ashdod, Israel, the duo Jos & Eli—Yossi Seluk and Eli Abutbul—fuse hypnotic melodies into a techno framework that draws on tech-house rhythms and trance textures. Their 2021 EPs Ofek and Mayhem, issued via Armada and Watergate, have broadened their audience through both studio output and club performances.
The pair first connected in their hometown through mutual acquaintances. Abutbul had already built a presence in the psychedelic trance scene, but Seluk’s demo recordings sparked their decision to collaborate once he completed his schooling and required military service.
Their debut arrived in 2013 with the single “Southern Boys,” followed by additional tracks on Asymmetric, Beat Boutique, and Parquet while their DJ sets showcased the same melodic techno and tech-house blend. European listeners responded, prompting further singles and partnerships with major continental dance imprints such as Armada and Watergate. Their 2020 EP Mozar along with the 2021 releases Mayhem and SOS soon appeared on numerous playlists, extending the reach of Jos & Eli’s sound.
