Biography
Kammerflimmer Kollektief originated as Thomas Weber’s solitary bedroom endeavor devoted to ambient textures and electronica, later swelling into a six-piece ensemble by 1999. The group—Christopher Brunner, Dietrich Foth, Johannes Frisch, Anne Vortisch, Heike Wendelin, and Weber—toured their hometown of Karlsruhe, Germany, and secured a recording contract with Payola Records during that formative year, yielding the debut album Maander in 1999 and Incommunicado the next. A subsequent distribution arrangement with Temporary Residence Limited introduced the band’s catalog to the United States prior to the arrival of their third LP, Hysteria, in 2001.
