Biography
From his fifth birthday onward, Nashville-born KeAnthony Dillard performed with the family gospel ensemble known as the Gospel True Notes. His prospects, both musical and otherwise, were abruptly halted by a conviction for aggravated robbery that resulted from his childhood best friend alerting the authorities. Eight years of incarceration followed. Not long after his release, Reprise offered him a solo contract, leading him to cut the debut album A Hustlaz Story. Every song on the project was written by Dillard himself and shaped with help from the Underdogs, Tank, and Mike City. Fronted by the ballad “Forever My Homie,” which addressed the betrayal by his former friend, the album reached stores in August 2008.
