K.I.D

Canadian duo K.I.D craft exuberant indie rock steeped in dance rhythms and a synthy new wave aesthetic drawn from the 1980s. The pair came together in Mississauga, Ontario, during 2015, uniting longtime high-school companions vocalist Kara Land with multi-instrumentalist Bobby Lo. Land and Lo had already begun composing material as teenagers, testing early ideas at open-mike nights across Toronto as they refined their approach. Subsequent club performances led to wider attention, including the independent single “I Wish I Was Your Cigarette,” which attracted producer Mike Crossey, known for his work with Arctic Monkeys, Two Door Cinema Club, and the 1975. Teaming with Crossey, the duo issued a self-titled EP in 2015. Two years later they followed with a second EP produced by the same collaborator, Poster Child, highlighted by the track “Boy.”
